Question about the Fanstasmic Dinner Package

Last week, I reserved my package for 12/25/02 at Mama Melrose and disney told me that my card would not be charged immediately and I would have 48 hrs. to cancel. Now, on this message board, I read that the card would be charged at time of booking, and I want to clarify if and when my card would be charged? I also want to find out if I could pay in ways other than my card (i.e. Travelers' Cheques). As a matter of fact, could I pay for meals with Travelers' Cheques and what would be the best way (please excuse if I sound a bit naive, but I've never done this before ) Thanks

We booked the Fantasmic Dinner Package last month on the same day that we planned to go. I was told at the time that my cc was being charged and that I already had passed the window to cancel. When we arrived at the meal we were given our bill and told that we had in fact not been charged yet. I don't know if this is the norm, but wanted to share our experience. You can used travelers checks to pay for meals in WDW if you have not previously been charged on a cc by the way.

I made my reservation at MGM the day before I planned to attend. The man taking my credit card deposit said I would be charged if I did not show up (48 hr cancellation was gone). But he also said I could pay with cash or credit card after the meal. I was given a check after the meal and paid in cash. I think your credit card is charged only if you don't show.

I booked ours months ago and wasn't charged for it until we paid our bill at the restaurant on the day of the package.
