Question about the Disney Rewards Visa

My dh and I are thinking of getting the Disney Rewards Visa card and were wondering if many of you DVC members have gotten this card. I know once we are approved, I imagine we will get information on how you get "reward points" to use toward purchasing tickets, room stays, etc.
I am just wondering if any of you use this Visa and how many of you feel it is a good credit card to have. I thought I read somewhere that some have used it to pay for their annual maintenance dues. Can anyone give me some information on how this works. How much do you have to charge before having enough money to pay for park tickets, hotel stays, and or dues? Any information would be appreciated. I tried searching but the search engine is not working now.

I have paid for all of our food on the last 2 trips. I believe anything that you can pay for a credit card with you can use the Disney Rewards card at Disney. We use the Visa card for everything. There are several different promotions for the start up promo. Maybe someone has the code that will get you the $50.00 family and friends once you make your first purchase. I had one and then got my husband and son one, he is 21. Applied online. I pay the bill in full each month. There are Disney specials.

We've certainly used ours; you even get reward points for paying your annual membership fees! We get 1%, if I'm recalling correctly, which in our case will cover most (if not all) of our food cost during a Disney trip.
[Just watch out for the interest that Disney charges--ouch, that can add up and eat up all your profits, making the reward points moot. ]

Last year we had enough reward points to pay for one night Poly concierge level during xmas week! We use the card for all purchases and pay it off each month so we accrue alot during a year. This year we have about $240 now for our december trip for either souveniers or to defray cost of DDP his year for our trip and we have 5 months more to add on. They give you debit cards that are accepted at WDW for most things(we have not been refused for food, accomodations, souvenirs). We love this perk! If you don't use the card as much as we do, you still can accrue enough to make a difference in your WDW budget.

I use a Citi Mastercard for gas, groceries and drug stores because it pays 5% in rewards. I use my Disney Visa for everything else (it pays 1%). I like having my little debit card for mad money at WDW. We have not used the card for dues after we did a bunch of add-ons (dues over $4000). I could get $40 rewards for using the card for dues, but I can't bring myself to fork over the money to pay it all at once when we can spread it over the year with no interest.

Thank you so much everyone for your replies. I think we are going to apply. We usually do pay our credit bill charges off each month so we do not worry too much about high interest rates. Dh and I both already each have a credit card which I use for just about everything, but it would be nice to make purchases on the Disney reward Visa and get $ rewards(to be used at Disney, yeah!) back for all my purchases.
