Question about the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit)

Hello everyone. I have a question about taking the ART. We're staying at the Holiday Inn Resort, on S. Manchester, which is a ways from the park. I wouldn't mind walking, but I have two small girls and my Mom with me, and I know the distance would be prohibitive particularly at the end of the day.

Can someone fill me in on the ART? I read that it runs every 20 min during the day but sometimes runs longer than that or even passes you by if it is full. What has been your experience if you have taken it? The route we're on (#12) seems to have fewer hotels on it, so could that make things better? Also, where does the ART drop you off? How close to the ticket booths and main gates? I have no idea and am a stickler for being prepared.

thanks so much
Kim

ART is currently $3 for adults and $1 for children. That price may be going up, you can also buy multi day passes but make sure they are not stamped on the back when you purchase them. It runs every 20-30 min. and if it is full then yes it will pass you by (we had that happen only one time on a previous trip in 06) but when they are that full they usually call for more shuttles/buses. You can stand in them, I've done that many times, it's not fun but it can be done.
Drop off is very close to security and the gates, just remember what your color is and you should be fine. :)

Ive read other posts where people complain about the service but my overall experience has been good. Ive used it for my last 3 DL trips and already bought my passes for this upcoming trip.

Yes it gets crowded at some of the peak times. I have never been skipped so far due to crowding but I have had to stand a couple of times. I love being able to park my car at the hotel and just leave it there. This year were planning to use ART for not only DL but also for Angels Stadium and the new Garden walk.

I dont know the ages of your children but I have read peoples negative comments about taking a stroller along.

Personally I think its worth the money and is very convienient.

Thanks so much. My kids are 7 and would probably die rather than be seen in a stroller, although I am sure they will wish for it by the end of the night. We are hoping to take a break in the afternoon and go back to the hotel. Hopefully things will run smoothly and we'll be fine. I did go ahead and order the 5 day ART passes online and have arranged for them to be delivered to our hotel.

Three weeks today we'll be there! :yay:
