Question about the 7th month window?

Hi,

I hope I can post this question here.

When does the 7 month window open? Is it on the arrival day or does the whole reservation period need to be covered?

Not sure I'm wording this right. Basically, if I'm planning on Dec 8-17th do I need to wait until May 8th or May 17th before I can reply to members on the rental board?

May 8, at 8am. I just booked my Dec 3-9 trip...forgot I had to wait until 8am to do it though!!! Caused me a bit of angst for a moment there.

You'll only be able to book 7 nights on May 8 (to night of Dec 14). You can call the next day for the 15th, next day for 16th to extend your reservation.

It opens at 8 a.m. eastern exactly 7 months out from date of arrival if reserving on-line; phones lines do not open until 9. If booking exactly 7 months out you can book no more than 7 nights and then you need to call in the days after to add other nights but you cannot add nights on-line to your existing reservation (for example you can reserve on-line at 8 a.m. May 8 for Dec 8-15 and then call May 9 to add the night of the 15th and May 10 to add the night of the 16th). For that time of year you should try to book Dec 8-15 exactly at 8 a.m. on May 8 because anything open can disappear quickly (within a matter of minutes after 8 a.m.) particularly if you are looking for anything at a near park resort (and there may be nothing open for a full week at 7 months out for those near park resorts so wait-listing some nights may be needed). That week is a high DVC demand week.
