Question about Test Track Queue

Hello - My two kids and I would like to ride TT but I'm sure my husband and Mom (who is coming with us this year) would not enjoy the actual ride. I think they would, however, enjoy the queue and watching our kids create their own cars.

My question is this: if all 5 of us have FP+ reservations for the ride, would it be possible for them to go through the queue with us but skip the actual ride once we get to that point? Would they be required to create cars and then leave empty seats in the vehicle that could have been used by other riders?

I'm a bit of a worrier about details like this :guilty:, and I foresee this being something that might come into play in other rides with interesting indoor queues as well. I know they make accommodations for kids who chicken out at the last minute, but what about adults?

if all 5 of us have FP+ reservations for the ride,

1. would it be possible for them to go through the queue with us but skip the actual ride once we get to that point?

2. Would they be required to create cars and then leave empty seats in the vehicle that could have been used by other riders?

3. I know they make accommodations for kids who chicken out at the last minute, but what about adults?

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. It is possible for ANYONE to stand in line for ANY ATTRACTION
at WDW and then decide (for whatever reason) not to ride the attraction.

(Can you imagine the furor if WDW were to FORCE guests ride an attraction against their will?) ;)

Haha good point! Thanks!

I don't know how much you know about FP+, but I'm also wondering along those same lines, if someone has a FP+ and doesn't use it before the time runs out, are they able to make new FP+ reservations later in the day or are they stuck? I"m thinking in terms of if we make reservations for all 5 of us, but one decides to just sit out the queue altogether.

The whole create a car thing basically has nothing to do with the ride. It is just there to entertain you before and after the ride. You don't need to design a car at all.

Thanks, I've always been confused about that as well!

1. A bit. ;)

2. You can let a FP+ "expire" at no penalty.
(BTW, if a guest with a FP+ ENTERS the FP+ LINE, that FP+ is considered "used" even if they don't ride.)

3. No problem. (It might be more "sporting" if you were to cancel that guest's FP+
as soon as that guest decides not to use it, so someone else might be able to pick it up.)

Hi ChandraM,
If you want to learn just about everything there is to know about FP+, you should read the post:

Here is an excerpt from that post that I believe answers your question:

Additional/Day-Of FP+
1) One additional FP+ can be selected per guest, subject to availability, at an in-park kiosk once the 3 prebooked ones are used or expire. When that FP+ is used, another FP+ can be scheduled and used (and so on).

While creating he car doesn't really have anything to do with the ride, my family really enjoyed competing to see whose car scored best. That in our opinion was the best part of the ride!

You can create your own car in the "exit area" of the ride. That way youcan create on whether you ride or not.

can someone explain how the updated TT ride queue works? i watched a little on youtube and have no desire to create a car. i just want to ride. is there separate lines for creating/riding and riding? or do you have to go through the creating part before riding?
