Question about Tendering?

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how do you actually get into the tender boat?? Realizing you aren't docked at a pier which you just walk off of, how do you get onto the tender boat? I just have visions of climbing a ladder....kinda like what we saw when the port pilot gets on the boat when you are comming into port. Not sure if either DH and I could handle that. They attach a gangplank between the tender & the ship on Deck 1. You just walk down a slight decline.

I am assuming the tender is handicapped accessible.

To be honest, I'm not sure how. I would definantly contact DCL about that to clarrify. I would think they would need to be, but we boarded going onto the 2nd level of the tender & got off at the dock on the 1st level. There were steep stairs to go between the levels.
