Question about taking Magic Express from Pop

So this is my dilemma (well not dilemma but issue). we can get a standard car at disney car care and head off to Tampa for the rest of our vacay, or for the same price get the magical express to MCO and get an SUV. Wondering how much time we will lose doing this option.

You would just lose the time traveling between Pop and MCO which will be about 30 minutes.

So the airport is not on the way to St Petes Beach area? I guess if it will be forty minutes out of our way (x2) it's not a great idea.

No, the airport is in the opposite direction, about 30 minutes east of WDW if traffic is light. St. Pete is roughly 90 minutes southwest of WDW.

You need to factor the fact that you may be on the ME bus for an hour before you even head to the airport. Last time we took it from AKV, we stopped twice, sat on the bus for well over an hour before we finally headed to MCO. It was frustrating, but nothing at that point to do about it.

No way would I take ME to the airport then drive to Tampa. It's 40 minutes in the opposite direction (that is without traffic, which is rare), then picking up your car, so you're losing at least a couple hours, but more likely more.

We just booked an SUV rental and are dropping it at car care when done. I'd say just keep checking because car rental inventory changes often. Someone has to rent the SUV I'll be dropping, I don't see them having it driven to a busier location, but I could be wrong. Good luck!
