I was thinking it would be nice to take a taxi to breakfast on a few mornings but, we have a 18 month old and I was wondering what to do about a car seat because we will be using the buses the rest of the time. Also we will be a group of 5-8 people. Will it be possible for us to take one cab? Also how much around should thus cost? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid questions and thanks in advance for any help. :)

If you have 8 people, I doubt you could take one cab. I've seen mini-van cabs but those seat probably 6 adults (one in passenger seat, two in middle row, three in last row). I'm not sure about the car seat though. It also depends on where you are going for prices. I looked up cab costs when considering taking cabs to my early ADRs and it was more costly than I thought. Might be easier to take the bus IMO.

Thanks! For part of the trip there will only be five of us but, I have no clue what to do about thecar seat. I hope someone has had some experience with this.

Where are your early morning breakfast ADR's to? If the restaurants are in a park or are on the monorail loop, it will just be easier to take Disney transportation. The one big character breakfast that you may want to worry about maybe taking a taxi to is Cape May, if that is one of your selections. It is the restaurant that will take the longest to get to using Disney transportation. Besides Cape May, the buses should be running more than early enough for you to be able to use them. :thumbsup2

You are not required to use car seats in taxis. We just held our kids in taxis in NYC. In WDW (now that they are 4 and 6) we usually just put a seat belt on them.

If you want to use one, tell the person at your resort to call for a cab with latch (they should all have it). Then you need to install and remove the seat (and store it somewhere during breakfast). Then you have to do all of that in reverse. I don't know what the rules are in WDW, but in NYC, if you use a car seat, they start the meter when you start the installation and stop it only after you get the car seat out (which is fair).

It is all about your level of comfort.

We took cabs several times on our last trip with our kids. The fee was about 15 dollars no matter where we were headed.

ThankyouEveryone for your replies. We are staying at cbr and we have breakfast at chef mickeys and kona so they are both monorail resorts. I was thinking that we might be able to save a little time taking a taxi. I could be wrong though. Its nice to know it's not required to have a car seat in a cab. I had no clue how that worked:). I also was thinking a cab might be nice for hddr. But, idk any input is helpful!:)

HDDR is easy to get to without taking a taxi. Take a bus to MK and then take a nice boat ride over to Ft. Wilderness, the theater is very close to the dock. If you are going to either the 7:15 or 9:30 shows, there will be buses waiting for you outside the theater to take you back to your resort.

I stayed at ASMo last August & for Chef Mic, I had a 7:05 breakfast - the bus driver asked everyone getting on the bus where they were going & since everyone said Chef M - he took us there instead of MK

Oh really I had no idea you could take a bus directly from ft wilderness to your own resort. We are going at7:15 so that would work. If we wanted to go from hddr to dtd that would be possible too right?

That would be really nice!:thumbsup2

It would be possible, but in order to get from HDDR to DTD it is my understanding you would have to take the Ft. Wilderness interior bus to the main bus stop at Ft. W to pick up the DTD bus. I am not 100% sure how that goes since we usually go to the late HDDR show and head back to the resort after.

This has happened to us a few times, too. Even if they don't just take you to the resort, the monorail is fairly empty that early in the morning (barring morning Extra Magic Hours) and CR is a very short walk from the buses at MK.

Personally, I'd stick to Disney transportation and save some money. For us, the $15-$20 is another souvenir to take home. :D

The fastest way to get to the CM ADR would be to take the bus to MK and then walk to CR, rather than take the monorail. You can take the monorail though if needed :thumbsup2

Oil so to add a layer to my question what if the reservations are at peek time like 9:00 would it be easier to take a cab then fighting the crowds for the bus. I know I have a lot of questions but, this is our first trip on property using the buses. Thank you all so much for your help:worship:

I think on most days, you shouldn't be fighting too much of a crowd for a 9AM ADR. We generally like to be at the bus stop at least 75 minutes before our ADR. This should leave enough time to wait for the bus, ride over to (in your case) MK and either walk over to CR or take the monorail to Poly and check in before our ADR time. At 7:45 for a 9AM ADR (when MK opens at 9) should be before the big rush for the bus. On mornings when MK has AMEMH or it is a time of year when MK opens at 8, you will have slighty more of a crowd, but in either instance the crowd still shouldn't be bad at all. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much fir explaining that. We are so excited 90 days to go!:cheer2:

We are staying at POR and have a 7:00am reservation at Chef Mickey's. When I called about the reservation I asked if busses would be running that early, but the CM I talked to had no idea. MK has EMH hours that day at 8. Will we have to get a taxi? Allowing enough time to get there or even to MK and walk over, we'd have to be at the bus stop around 6, which is way too early.

That is way too early! I think it might be nice to get a taxi just to not have to go through that for one day. But, we will just have to see how it goes I guess. But, it's nice to know a car seat isn't required :)
