My parents will be joining us for a few days of our next WDW trip, and will be coming to MK and Epcot with us. My father is diabetic (thank goodness he is not on medication and is controlling it very well through diet and exercise...so proud of him!
). We will be eating at CRT for dinner at MK. Is there a sugar-free dessert option at the CRT dinner? If not, when I make the ADR could I put in a request for either a sugar-free dessert or fruit for my father?
Also, I know that some CS places offer sugar-free desserts. What are they like? This is just in case he decides to get one at a CS, although that is not likely. I know that most CS places have fruit available. My parents will not be on any of the dining plans, so it is more likely that my dad will not even bother with dessert at a CS location unless he decides he should/wants to have some fruit.
The other TS restaurant they are definitely going to is Akershus at Epcot for lunch, in Norway. They will be going there with my sister and her girls, but we are probably not joining them for that meal, which means my sister would be making the ADR (but I will remind her to put in a special request if necessary). Is there a sugar-free dessert option there? If not, would they offer him some fruit?
They also plan on snacking around the WS instead of doing an actual dinner when they are in Epcot. Of course, my dad can't take advantage of the sweeter snacks like schoolbread in Norway or pastries in France, but what are some other smaller items you would recommend throughout the WS that would be safe for a diabetic to enjoy? He may just end up getting an actual CS meal, but I know they would really rather snack around and enjoy something in a few of the countries without totally stuffing themselves silly! They would probably just share a bunch of small things, kind of like when DH and I snack around the world (except we do it between meals, not instead of meals
).
Thanks in advance!!
