Question about staying at other than "home" resort, 11 months out

I've gotten some conflicting information, and can't seem to find what's right! When I am planning on staying somewhere other than my home resort, do I:

book at my home resort eleven months out, and then transfer to where I want to stay at the seven month window?

or

do I wait and book at the seven month window at the resort I want to stay at?

If someone could please let me know, I'd really appreciate it! If it's eleven months out-book at home resort, I can make my ressies tomorrow!

It's your choice how you want to do it.

Personally I book my home resort at the 11 month mark. That ensures I have a reservation. Then at the seven month mark I can attempt to move it. But depending on when and where, that may not always be possible.
