Question about stamps.com

Yesterday I went to stamps.com to sign up so I could get the free digital scale for trying it out. Well, I got busy and did not do it. I went back today to sign up and now they are advertising a different special that does not include the scale. Is the scale normally offered? Is there any other way to get it??

Stamps.com has that offer many times a year. Upon looking at their site, a minute ago and it said a free scale, however, I closed the page, and when I went back it did not have the scale listed.

It only says:

Sign up today and we'll get you started with:
$5.00 free Postage
$5 Free Supplies

I would randomly check it, as they do offer it alot! I got mine over a year ago.

I tried again and got the scale offer. Am I reading it correctly that I must keep the service until I pay for a month to be able to redeem the free scale offer. It would probably still be worth it since I would also get $5 of free shipping, but maybe it would just be easier to buy one on Ebay. Is the scale worth around $10+shipping($8??)?

A quick look at Staples showed the cheapest comparable scale at $42. On ebay I found one for $13 plus shipping ($9.75).
