Question about splitting stay?

We are planning a trip for Nov/Dec of 2003. We would like to split our stay between ASMo and AKL (if I can get a good AP rate for AKL).
This is what I am wanting to do:
ASMo: Nov. 28th - Dec. 3rd and AKL: Dec. 3rd - Dec. 5th

Now here's the question?:
How do I make the ressies for this? I was thinking of making one for ASMo for Nov 28th - Dec. 5th and then making one for AKL for Dec. 3rd - Dec. 5th. I figured if I couldn't get a good AP rate for AKL then I would atleast have the room at ASMo booked for the enire stay. If I can get a good AP rate for AKL then I can just cancel those days I don't need at ASMo. Does this make sense? also- if I can't get AP rate at AKL and need to cancel that ressie, will they apply that deposit over to my other ressie at ASMo.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!

We have just done the same thing. I booked 7 nites at AKL savannah view and 7 nites at PO FR (for the same week), we couldn't decide where to stay. AP rates came out and then we decided WL would be a better choice, so we cancelled POFR and did WL, they applied to deposit from PO to WL. We then cancelled the last 3 nites at AKL and the 1st 4 at WL (I know this is very confusing) so we spend a split stay between the 2 resorts. So to answer your questions..... yes 2 ressies at the same time are possible and yes they will transfer a deposit between ressies. I think I may do the same thing for next year. It gives you flexibility and time to make your decision depending on the rates. We go on the off season so I doubt this effects anyone's ability to get a room...if it was peak season i would feel a little more quilty.

They are quite good about complex reservation requests and making changes.

If you have never stayed at AKL, get a savannah view room. WL is a wonderful resort, but nothing compares to AKL!

Enjoy your trip!!

A room with a savannah view is what I am wanting. The split stay is going to be a surprise. My DM, DD, DS have no idea that I am doing this at AKL. My DS LOVES Giraffes and that is why I'm trying to get the cheapest savannah view room I can. For the time of year that I am going (Dec3-5) what is a good AP rate on a standard savannah view room? and is there any room /section preferrence I should request?
