A few quick questions about online checkin for split stays. We have never used online checkin as we find that we would prefer to go and have our magic bands confirmed to be working (seeing as they never seem to open the doors at the new resort, even though we always physically check out of the first one). As well, we don't have US phone numbers and therefore cannot receive room-ready texts.

However, for an upcoming three way split stay in September (don't laugh, but it is totally intentional lol), we are doing the regular dining plan the first night, the deluxe plan for the next three, and the regular for the last three nights.

Here are my questions- first of all, we always make very specific room requests and have been quite fortunate overall in receiving them. I know that online checkin requests will supersede any previous requests, but if I leave those blank, is that still the case? As in, will my prior requests still make it to the room assignor? Will we have a better chance of getting the requests if we physically check in? Secondly, I would prefer to have Bell Services move our luggage and just head to breakfast at MK on the second day rather than walking from Poly to VGF and spending a while with checking in. However, I'm not sure if our second dining plan will activate automatically at 7am, which I've heard, or once we check in, either online or in person.

Third, is there a way to note on the online checkin form that we cannot receive texts? Would they send an email instead?

We are planning to make sure we fully check out of the Poly before attempting any online or in person checkin, but I am worried about going to breakfast and not being able to use our dining credits to pay if we haven't checked in. Does anyone have experience with activating a dining plan with online checkin?

Thanks in advance for the help :)!

Good luck! :-)

Leave the online request section blank if you use it, I don't think that online check in will help. IMO you should send a runner to each resort with all MB's to check in, change room location if necessary and fix the DDP issues if any.

Better to expect the worse and hope for the best, being prepared is the best way to have a better vacation.

Yes, I imagine we will end up heading over there to make sure everything is working, just the same as always. I try to assume all of the worst MB issues will arise, then am pleasantly surprised if or when they don't. I was hoping somebody could provide some positive feedback about my various online checkin questions, but I shouldn't be too surprised that nobody seems to have any good experiences to share :P
