Question about something I saw on TV

During the Christmas Parade that aired today, Maria Menounos made mention about a big announcement she was going to reveal during the New Year's Eve shows on ABC, and I was wondering if anyone knew what that might be. Last year, it was about the parks being open 24 hours for leap day 2012.

I saw her comment and wondered what *the* announcement would be but I'm not holding my breath.

I also heard her and Samantha Brown say that there was a big announcement, something that was happening in January, for both parks.

I went onto Allears.net and found this:

Announced in the fall of 2012, Limited Time Magic features unexpected experiences with an extra sprinkle of Pixie Dust at Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort that’ll appear for a "limited time".

I wasn't able to copy/paste the entire article, but this may be it, althought Allears states that it begins on December 29th

Although....Disney Parks Twitter said to check back there on Friday for news, so who knows.

Good point! And if the big 2012 announcement about leap year is any indication we'll be complaining with good reason. Not that it was a terrible idea, but to hype it as something extraordinary is pretty lame.

What's next? Cold drinks with more ice than ever before? I know I'm more than a little cynical. I love Disney, but the hype on relatively minor promotions is annoying.

I haven't been on the Dis too long, but was OMDD not well received in Florida? Because it seemed to be a great hit here at DL.

Yeah I got pretty pumped up about the BIG announcement last year with all the hype Disney put out there and then felt silly when the announcement was made...lame. Not losing sleep over it this year!
