For anyone who has been to Disney World recently and used the DDP - Can you verify YEAH or NAY that Mousesavers is correct - that credits are not identified as adult or child?

Here is what was posted on Mousesavers:
All of the meal credits for everyone in your party are "pooled." For instance, if you have a family of 4 and stay for 5 nights, you'll have a "pool" of 20 table service credits to use. Credits are not designated as "adult" or "child" credits -- they are all the same.

This is true. We did it in June. We ate at Spoodles and paid for the kids' meals. That left us two extra table service meals that we used for ourselves later in the week. We just paid for the kids again. It turned out being more cost efficient for us that time.

Unfortunately, the rules for the Dining Plan prohibit using child meal entitlements for adult meals. This is a very contentious issue on the boards, and so the moderators have announced the following:

Interpretation of the rules has led to a tremendous amount of debate on these boards. To avoid further conflict, we will close any threads that ask for interpretation of the rules and encourage the poster to contact WDW Dining.

We had a one-year-old with us, and at some restaurants they asked to see our card before we ate. I mentioned something like, "Oh, no one has ever asked this before the meal," and the CM said something like, "Oh, just checking to see how many adults and kids." So it might be something changing. This was the beginning of October.

However, we also had a CM take an adult TS credit off for DD! Of course we had to go through the hassle of putting it back on. I'm like, Come on, she's 1!

We just got back. Our cards are clearly marked "A02" which means 2 adults, so no issue for us because no kids.

I was in line at a counter service restaurant and the people behind us were on their last day. They ordered something like 3 adult meals and 2 kid meals. The lady told him they only had 2 adult meal credits left and he could not use a child credit for the meal, so he had to pay for that one OOP. She was very clear about it and he didn't argue with her.

We had some counter service give me large drinks and some said only a regular was included in the plan, so that depended on the CM. But the size cup would be less likely to flag than an adult vs a kids meal.

At this time Mousesavers is correct, all the credits are pooled, use them anyway you like. As for violating any rule, visit the Official Disney Web Site and click on the 2006 DDP Brochure, you will then see that despite what someone wants you to believe, there is no longer any mention of any rule against this in The 2006 brochure. Have fun and enjoy your trip.

Many thanks to everyone who replied to my question.
I was concerned that I would have to try and keep track of 2 cards that carried credits for myself (mom) and DD (9).
This will make it easier when purchasing meals - with it all being on one card - 9 nights will be 18 TS credits, 18 CS credits and 18 snack credits.
Thanks again.

Yes the credits are pooled, but on Sept 28th, I (only my father with me) tried to get 4 CS adult meals at Columbia Harbor House. The CM looked at our card which clearly indicated 2 adults and 2 children and said we could only get 2 adult meals and two kids meals. I paid OOP for the other 2 adult meals ($18). I suppose I could have had my wife go up seperately and get 2 adult meals, but I wasn't going to hassle. At other places (i.e. ABC Commissary) I (by myself) used the DDP for 3 adult CS meals at a time without any problem.

It sounds like (to me) you were only trying to get two more adult meals out of your "pool" of adult meals, and because your card said A02 she would only give you two.......which, if you had enough credit in your account for two more adult meals, I don't see why she wouldn't give to you......my understanding of the plan is you can use them up however fast you like.

I was thinking the question was that people are trying to say they want to use child meal credits to pay for and receive adult meals. In the situation I saw, they were not permitted to do that. The CM knew exactly how many credits they had left of adult vs child......and told him he could not use a child credit to order an adult meal.

We had two in our party, either of our "keys" could be used to purchase the entire meal. We did not need to give them both. Either key was tied to the computer account that tracks the meals. And after each meal you will get back a receipt that tells you how many of that type food you have left.

"6 Snack Cpns Remain" "8 TBL SVC Cpns Remain" "4 CNTR SVC Cpns Remain"

I would keep those receipts. Some have reported that they have lost credit from double charging by accident. I know at snack places I saw many times the machine didn't take and they would run it again, and I worried about double charging.
