After reading all the reviews my DD and I can't wait to try Soarin' in June when we visit the World. It looks awesome! But I have a concern and wanted to hear from folks who've already been on it to reassure me I won't have a problem. I am 5' 1" which isn't an issue but... well, how can I put this delicately... I'm rather wide, big, large... you pick the word! I know it's a lap belt but can anyone tell me how long it is? I'm not a "coaster" person so I can't use that as a frame of reference, though I did ride Dinosaur without a problem.

Generally speaking I haven't had any issues with turnstyles or seats... Drew Carey at MGM fits, though it's snug, but I do have to go around the turnstyles at POTC ad COP.

I'm hoping someone out there who has had a chance to ride Soarin' can give me a little info... I'd be sooooooo embarassed and dissapointed if after waiting in the line, I can't fit!

DebbieJean: I have ridden Soarin at California Adventure many times and being a size 18/20 have had no problems. I have also seen many people much larger than me riding just fine as well, this includes my size 2X, 6'3" father in law. The belt is very long and the seats aren't that wide but they aren't narrow either. I think you will be just fine. You might try posting this over on the Disneyland side of the board too, since Soarin has been a popular ride over there for a long time, more people have experience with it. Also, don't know if allearsnet.com has any info on this ride yet on their WDW at large section. Enjoy it, you will be fine!

Just noticed you said you rode Dinosaur so if you can ride that Soarin will be fine for sure.

I rode Soarin at WDW last Friday during the AP preview. I'm a size 20 and had no problems. I think it's even a little bigger than Dinosaur or Tower of Terror.

The seat belt is very long - I am a pooh shaped person, and had no problems at all.
It was also a concern of mine...
