Here is the situation. I have a 10 year old and we will not be on the DDP. She is not a big eater at all and will order the kid's meal at most table services. I know if we go to buffets I will have to pay the adult price for her, but what about at Whispering Canyon? May she order the child size skillet or will she need to pay the adult price for the skillet?
TIA

I don't see a Kid's Skillet offered on the menu. So the adult price would be charged.

AllEars lists the price for the child's skillet at 9.59. I can swallow that much easier than 26.99:eek:

I would think this is going to be the same situation as if you were at a buffet or a family style meal where it's all you care to eat. I feel your pain, I have a 13 yo that eats very little and she has been expensive for quite awhile.

If you are paying OOP I don't see why you can't order it.

The contents of the skillet are the same, no matter who orders it. Just as if it were a buffet, as it will be reloaded as many times as you want with the items you want (any or all).

Anyone age 10 or older is charged the adult price, anyone ages 3-9 is charged the children's price.

While I have not eaten at WCC I am asuming that it is served family style. That is that they bring out one large skillet at a time, with plates for each family member to serve themselves on, and if you need more of something they will bring you out a refill of whatever you want. This is how dinner is done at the Garden Grill too.

If she's over 9 she will pay the adult price for the all you can eat skillet. If she'd like to order an a la carte item from the children's menu, they will probably permit that, but she can't order an all you can eat item and pay the child's price if she's 10. It's also not permitted to share the skillet with her if she didn't order it. If they see you doing that, they might charge her for the skillet.

They don't serve individual skillets. It is one large skillet with food portions for however many persons ordered it, served family style, and you ask for refills if you want them.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to think about this one.

The child's skillet at WCC is not all you can eat. Given that, my DS10 ordered it on our Thanksgiving trip. I agree that any of the buffets or all you can eat meals would need to be priced at the adult price for a 10 or older child, but the WCC child's skillet does not fit that category. All of the other adults at my table (including DS13) ordered the adult skillet and one big skillet was brought out with our food and refilled as we requested, but the child skillet was brought out on a Mickey plate and not refilled at all. DS10 did get the bottomless shake though and we paid for that separately from the meal, so his meal actually ended up costing about the same as the adults!

BTW, lunch is significantly lower price than the dinner and I think you get the same skillet (not sure if something extra may be offerred at dinner), so you might consider going there for lunch instead of dinner to help with cost.

Thank you so much Mareed! That is excellent news! I'm sure my little 10 year old wouldn't want seconds anyway so this is perfect! She can still get her ribs and I don't have to pay close to $30 for them:goodvibes
