Probably a question for Rusty, but feel free for anyone with experience with this to chime in. We have been to FW a few times but the next time we go, probably a couple of years yet, we will be going with the DS and family and they have their own camper. I know there is no guarantee about side by side sites but the DW asked this other night and I had no answer. If She made both reservation would it make a difference or would you just link the reservations together? Don't want to sound dumb but how do you link reservation? Thanks in advance.

1) Yes, definitely "Link" your reservations.
2) Have the ressie noted you would like a nearby site with "XXXXXXX"
3) It will be attempted.
4) Sometimes, two comparable sites next to each cannot be arranged, but we try to please.
5) Also, at least one of you need to check-in EARLY in the morning.
. . . ant resort, including The Fort can usually jostle rooms/sites to accommodate guests
. . . the later you check-in, rooms/sites are already assigned and swapping is harder to accomplish

Definitely make the reservation and request a grand gathering number (unless you are going to call in both reservations and pay a day and let your DS call back and finish adding tickets/etc on.) We have been going for many years with 3-5 reservations linked under a grand gathering. As Rusty said it is not always possible to be next to each other, but we are always in the same loop. I was in the same site the last 2 years because I could fit in it. The rest of the group was about 4 sites before me on the loop, last year we where all right on the same corner of the loop.

Disney does do a great job at trying to accommodate.

We have 3 campers in our group, when we booked they made a note to TRY and put us side by side, we understand that they will try their best, we will be happy just getting in the same loop! We also linked our reservations, alot of links, so many links I feel like one of the ghost from Hunted Mansion dragging 50 feet of chains! Haha! Good luck with everything!

We've traveled with one other family, two other families and last year with 4 other families. Over the years, WDW has always accommodated our requests for loops and sites together. Linking reservations help. We used to fax our requests but that is obsolete now. :).

I just got off the phone with WDW Travel, I had a issue with linking someone going with us. Anyhow if you talk to someone with WDW Travel. Tell them you wanna link another reservation(s) and they make a "note" of a "added guest (s)" and if everyone has the same type of site (premium, preferred, etc) reserved the CM (hopefully Rusty Scupper) at the Fort when you check in should see the "note of added guest" and that should ensure you and everyone traveling with end up together. Basically the same thing everyone has said. Give WDW Travel a call and talk to them about it, if anything just for a piece of mind.
