Question About Shop Disney Parks App

Hello everyone! I'm not sure if this has been asked already so here goes…on MDE there is reference to a "Shop Disney Parks Mobile App" which I am unable to download when I am redirected to the App Store (iTunes) as it is "not currently available in the Canadian Store". Has anyone had any luck downloading the app once they are at WDW or is it not possible to override being recognized as a Canadian customer when using my iPhone in the US? This is by no means a deal-breaker if it is not possible to download the app but I just thought some of the features sound kind of cool like being able to use the map to see what items are in stock and where at WDW and being able to scan items in the stores. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I can answer this question! Yes, once you're on-site you will be able to download the Shop app .. and it's pretty sweet!! It is a bit tricky to try and figure out the sorting algorithms it uses if you want to search for "hoodie" but if you see something you like in a store but need a different size, you can scan the tag and it will tell you where it's in stock.

If you are an AP holder or a DVC member once you sign into your account you will even get those discounts applied to any purchases you make thru it. NOW ... if you decide to order something you will need a US address to have it delivered to before it will let you buy something. I got sick at the end of our trip before i bought my souvenir but luckily had downloaded the app to hubby's phone, found what i wanted, ordered it (got the 20% discount for my AP) and had it shipped to a friend, who in turn forwarded it to me.

I created a US iTunes account and I was able to download the app without any problems (I'm in Québec)

Thank you for your reply as well! I quickly looked up how to create a US iTunes account and will give it a try. It says you require a US address to do so but apparently there are options for getting one of those. I will give it a go and see if I have any luck. Thanks again!!

**worth noting that the APP works in Canada -- just can't download it here (unless you use the trick @disneybree described!) You will need to have items shipped to a US address.

Yup. I just downloaded it for fun, seeing how the app worked and items around the park. That way I won't have to wait 4 hours for downloading an app at a park with spotty wifi
