Question about Seuss Landing

On our trip last summer, since it was our first time to IOA, we bypassed Seuss Landing as my DD is 15. We're going back in a couple of weeks and now that we've seen everything once and have more days to explore, I'd like to spend some time at Seuss Landing. How many people ride some of those rides with no kids or older kids like mine? I don't want to be the only adults riding Cat in the Hat with no small children! I'd love to ride that and the Trolley Ride. Anything else I should try to see or do in Seuss Landing? I'm really looking forward to taking it slower this year and seeing some of the sites I missed last year. Thanks!

I really enjoy CITH and usually ride it whenever I'm over there. Lots of adults ride it w/o children so don't let that worry you. The trolley ride is nice but the line can really back up so do that early in the day. I love One Fish Two Fish.

Cat in the Hat is not to be missed. They did a great job retelling the story in a dark ride format, and the spinning cars really add to it. (they don't spin so much to make you sick, just enough to add a new element to a traditional ride format :thumbsup2 ) When I go to IoA, it's usually with a group of friends. I'm the oldest at 30, the others are in their late 20's. We actually ride everything in Seuss Landing. One Fish two fish is similar to dumbo, but the song is extremly catchy. Plus dodging the water adds a fun new element. And the Caro-suess-el is just very imaginitive. I'd say since it's your 2nd trip, take some time to check out the whole island. Some of the details are amazing.

One word of caution though, the line for the Seuss trolley can get very long. While the views are terrific, the ride itself is very short. Try to hit it close to opening before the line builds up. If it's more than a 20 minute wait, I would recommend skipping this one.

DH & I rode Cat in the Hat before we had kids. We were not the only adults to ride without kids. When we went back this summer with our little guys, we saw plenty of grownups without kids on it... as well as lots of teens. You will definitely not be alone.

The High in the Sky Trolley is very cute and offers some great views of the park. It is a short ride, however, so have your camera ready.

One Fish, Two Fish is entertaining and worth a spin... especially for those of us that refuse to wait in the mammoth line for Dumbo at MK anymore. I found that if you stay up high, you miss most of the water squirts. Even if you get hit with a spray, it isn't much. Just a fun little, "Oh, they got me!"

I also enjoyed the Caro-Seuss-el. DS5 had a hard time choosing which Seuss creature he wanted to ride on. If you have read many Seuss books, you will recognize lots of the critters on the carosel. They even have the tiny bird-elephant that hatched in Horton Hatches the Egg. If I wouldn't have felt like I was crushing the poor thing, I would have chosen to ride it. ;)

There are some wonderful stores if you are into shopping at the parks. There is a great children's book store (of course), but I also liked the Mulberry Street Store because of all the Grinch stuff (I got a fabulous Christmas ornament).

More than anything, I like that they captured the feel of the illustrations in all of the Seuss books. When I walk through that section, I really get the sensation that I have stepped into the pages of my childhood. :goodvibes

Thanks to everyone for the info. I'm still a big kid at heart and will definitely spend some time in Seuss Landing on this trip. I used to use my DD as an excuse to ride everything in Fantasy Land at WDW when she was younger, but now that she's older, that's getting harder to do! I loved Dr. Seuss as a kid, so I should enjoy this section of IOA.

it's our favorite of the Islands. Universal has put so much detail into the attractions that first appear they're geared for small kids, adults end up having just as much fun as their children. (or more) :)

I love CITH and I ride it at least once every trip! You definitely won't be the only adult there.

we love CITH too....i'd ride it w/o her if you have to, and then come back and brag about what a great ride it was....because it WILL be!

fyi: when riding 1 fish 2 fish....make sure you know what fish you are in. They actually have the red fish, the blue fish, 1 fish and 2 fish (seats 3 people). You need to know what "kind of fish" you are in to follow the directions in the song!
