Question about scheduling FPs with Magic Bands & Non-Expiry ticket

About 5-8 years ago I purchased a non-expiring ticket, which I still have 3 days on. We are looking to possibly do a trip in August/September hitting a couple ball games, Universal and then around 3 days at Disney. So I was thinking, I'll finally have a good time to use up this ticket.

Now the question. Will I be able to schedule FP times in advance for everyone else, and I'll be stuck with none if I use this ticket? Has anyone had any similar experiences where you've been allowed to schedule such a ticket FPs with the rest of your group? Any info is appreciated. TIA

If the ticket is linked to MDX, then it's valid park admission and it counts. You'd have 30 days if you don't have a resort reservation, and 60 days from the date of the reservation if you do.

If the ticket is too old to link to MDX then you will have to wait until you arrive to exchange it for a new ticket...and that will mean that you cannot book fastpasses for yourself because you will not have valid park admission linked.

My Disney Experience. MDX is the abbreviation that Disney uses for it. Most posters here use MDE, but Disney uses MDX so that is what I use.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out tonight. Didn't even know about that.

I was just at Walt Disney World on a Disney World Vacation Package this past week.

While there, I brought with me my 'old' No-Expiration Tickets and asked how I can get those linked into My Disney Experience (MDX).

They had to convert the tickets into the new RFID-type tickets with readable numbers before they could be linked. I actually bought DH a Magic Band and had that linked to a ticket as well. The process of converting the tickets took only a few minutes, but it had to be done at Guest Relations by a Disney Cast Member.

Now, I'm ready to schedule our FP+ 30 days out, which happens to be this Saturday night, at midnight.

Good luck!

I also have two very old non expiring tickets. I may or may not have to use them this trip. If I am able to link them to my MDE account, and don't use them, is that a problem? Is there any downside to adding an old ticket to your MDE site, and not using it? I am sure I will use it in the next 5 - 7 years, but should I see if I can add it to my MDE now, just in case??
