Having never ridden any of the coasters at either IOA or US, does ROTM have an equivalent at any of the Disney parks? Besides being in the dark, is it similar to any of the Disney rides?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts- I'm trying to decide if I will be brave enough to try during our trip in May.

Sorry but im crap at this letter thing....ROTM?? I cant think of hwat it is desptie going to universal so many times!

ROTM=Revenge of the Mummy

I'd say the closest equivelent would be SpaceMountain. It doesn't go upside down like Rock 'N' Rollercoaster.

rotm has a storyline to it.
you enter into different rooms as the story is portrayed.

the coaster portion is very smooth.

Go for it! I'm a total coaster chicken -- plus, I have a few health issues that I don't want to ruin a vacation with (neck, vertigo), and I did fine on ROTM. Not something I'd want to do over and over, but one time was very fun.

I'd put it somewhere in between Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain on intensity. Thunder Mountain I can do with a rest after; Space Mountain sets off my vertigo, so that's a no-no for me now.

ROTM is dark, but not pitch black. Most of the ride, too, is going from room to room, in a slow fashion, with lots of special effects and animatronics.

I pondered for years whether I should go on it. Usually I was a perfect happy camper hanging out at the bar at Finnegan's (across the "street") holding the backpack waiting for DH. I finally did it, and it really wasn't bad at all.

My husband and sister are real coaster chickens and both of them have now ridden ROTM multiple times.

Thank you all for your responses!! The intensity factor is what I was looking for. I am finding that the older I get, the less I can handle some of the rides...sounds like I will go for it though (at least I think!!).

Since it is an indoor coaster, you have not sense of height. It is a great ride and it is just like you are in the movie. My 70 year old mother rode it and loved it. She can't stand on a chair without getting dizzy:lmao: The coaster is smooth - no jerky movements no inversions. You will love it! And it's over fast - too fast in my opinion:rotfl:
