Question about Rooms

We are headed to WDW on Feb. for our first family trip. :bounce: I made reservations through a travel agent recommended by a friend. We only have room resv. and are buying tickets seperately b/c it was cheaper. We have AAA and get a discount on those.
My question is, does AAA offer room discounts, and if so can my travel agent get me one? I told her we had AAA, but we are paying the standard room rate ($86 at ASM). Can anyone help?

TIA!! :)

Yes, if the AAA discounts have been released for that period of time. Part of Feb is peak season, so there might not be one for the time you're looking at.

What I would do is call the WDW CRO and ask what the rate would be. if they tell you a lower price, I would get back in touch w/ your TA and tell him/her to fix it! :D

Are you flying or driving to WDW? If you are driving, AAA runs the WDW welcome center at Ocala, FL. They generally offer rooms at very good discounts, but you have to show up in person to take advantage of these deals.

We are driving. So, how would we go about getting that discount? We would have to visit the welcome center? Would they apply it to our reservation that is already made? Any help would be appreciated! (the more money we save this trip the sooner we can go back! ;) )

First of all, you don't have to be a AAA member to use this technique. AAA is given blocks of rooms by WDW at discount prices. Naturally, AAA members get the best discounts but they also provide reduced rates to nonmembers. The trick is that the discount rooms vary from day to day at the WDW Ocala welcome center. It's an easy exit off of I-75 and it's well marked.

It's a simple matter just to drop in and ask what they have available. Tell them about your current reservations and see if they can find you a better deal. Sometimes they can and sometimes not, but it's worth a try. We had a room at All Star Music earlier this year for $77 a night and when we stopped in at the AAA welcome center they were able to find us a room for $49 a night at the same WDW resort. Give it a try. Even if you don't get a better rate on your room you'll appreciate the brief rest stop!

I have ressies at Pop Century for 2/7 -> and I used my AAA discount and got $68/night. I also did room only b/c I have Hilton Honors points for the tickets.

I just called the ressie # and asked for room only using the AAA discount (did not require an actual code). Its a good deal so go for it!

Maybe I'll see ya at WDW. So excited! Feb is a great time to go I think! YAY!
