Question about rooms available with a travel agent

I am assuming that the answer to this is no, but I am going to ask anyway. If I cannot get the resort I want for the length of stay I want with the winter free dining plan booking directly through Disney, would a travel agent possibly have some of these rooms available at that resort?

I know nothing for a fact, but I think that certain rooms are allotted for free dining at a time, and there may be rooms available at a certain resort, but not for free dining.

Easiest way to check is to see if there is availability for room only on the Disney site.

Now if you are asking if a Travel Agent has rooms for free dining at a particular resort I suppose it can't hurt to ask.. I would think they got their "sections" of rooms available for free dining and might still have availability..

Calling disney up to and around the 45 day mark for your dates might get you the promotion, as people have to pay in full for their vacations by 45 days and might decide to cancel. But will the window be open to book at 45 days?

Have you considered any other resorts? I probably would take free dining wherever I could get it myself. Then you could keep checking to see if anyone cancels for your dates.
Good luck and hopefully someone who understands Travel Agents better will have good advice!

I had some clients that wanted a room at coronado because there was a convention and waited to long to book. Disney was completely sold out at the resort, but I was able to find them availability if I booked it through go-go vacations.

I was looking for a standard room at AKL and there was no availability on the Disney website but there was on Expedia. This was room only not a package with dining.

When we went in 2007 during free dining, I really wanted a Preferred room at Pop. Online, there was no availability for my dates. My TA was able to get me what I wanted. I don't know how they do it, but it's certainly worth checking.

I've been able to get rooms through USAirwaysVacations and SouthwestVacations when there was no availability through Disney. I imagine that Expedia and other agencies that book blocks of rooms might also have rooms when Disney's CRO is showing none. It's worth a try.
