This is going to be a long post, so better get a :surfweb: before you start reading.

At the moment I've got a preferred room at ASMo booked with free dining and park-tickets for 9-4/9-12. I've been silently dreaming about upgrading to the CBR. (well, AKL is all time dream but with the refurb and the price being way out of my league, I decided that aint even dreaming-material)

I just went on the disney site, and low and behold; a discount on room only bookings, also during the time of my stay.

First of all a question about booking "room only"; can I add tickets just by saying "I want some tickets", or will that be a problem because of the room only?

I've been doing some math;

The price I payed for the room incl. tickets; $1116.91
The price for CBR standard view with the discount; 8 nights of $104,- is a totall of $832,-
9 Day park tickets with hopper & water park; $309. This would make a totall of $ 1141,- for both. Hardly any difference ($24.09.

Off course I would loose the free DDP. I'm not a big eater nor do I definately want a TS every day. If I do some math based on the menu's, the TS's I definately want to do and add some extra, I figure the eating would cost me about $250,-.

So in totall that would be $274.09 more. Upgrading with the package I've got at the moment would cost an extra $500.28.

Sounds attractive! On the other hand, off course the DDP has it's benefits also. WWYD; keep what I've got or go for the CBR? (off course if there even is a room still available for this discount that has a roll in shower)

Another question; I though doing math isn't that hard. The disney-site seems to disagree with me, or I'm not reading some of the small print. If I select a 9 day, 8 nights stay for room only, standard view at CBR, the site states that each night will cost $145,- (it doesn't do the discount by itself). If I do the math myself, 8 times $145 would make $1160,-. They disney-site however, comes to a totall of $1306,-. That's a difference of $146,-. Who is missing something here; me or disney?

There is a special now where you can book the room only discount (the summer code) or room plus tickets or room plus dining. Only getting a discount on the room though. If you look on the codes and rates board you will see it there. I gave up free dining to save money and then ended up booking WL at the same price (well $50 cheaper PLUS 1 night extra) than CSR with free dining. Now we just gotta pay for food and 1 day tickets into Typhoon Lagoon!

Thnx for the reply, Megnsamsgracie. I checked out the topic you mentioned; great info in there. I figured out what I was doing wrong; I still had to count in the tax after the $104,- per night (we're not used to prices being stated excl. tax, so I never thought about needing to add that).

Adding that up into the totall, it would mean upgrading to the CBR with this code would cost $1383,-. or $267,- more and giving up the dining. That's just a bit to steep for me (can buy to much souvie's for that ;) ), so I'm staying at the ASMO. Which I'm sure I'll also enjoy.

Enjoy your discount and both of your trips. Must be great to do both the anniversary and family trip. Getting the best of both. :)
