Question about ressies/PS

We will be staying offsite this time. If I understand it right we need to head over to Blue Bayou to make ressies (or PS) on the morning of the day that we wish to eat there. What about the character meals and restaurants in DCA? Can we make those ahead of time or is this on same day basis too? Also, I assume that the Downtown Disney restaurants are independent and work just like those in WDW?

Actually you can make ALL of your ressies up to 30 days in advance- including Blue Bayou and Character breakfast- DCA also --some of the Downtown Disney restaurants too--- (not ESPN Zone or Rainforest Cafe)
call them at 714-781-DINE
I just made my ressies for Goofy's and for Blue Bayou - they just take your name and phone number - no confirmation number given (filed under last name ), NO CC needed, they give you a couple of time slots you just pick which one you want - very quick and painless... ENJOY!

I agree with funnygarcia. We're going to DL May 31 and have already called in our reservations for Blue Bayou and Goofy's Kitchen.
Can't wait to try both!!!

The ability to make PS ahead of time for offsite guests is new. And you can make ressies for Rainforest Cafe by calling them direct, see the Disneyland Website for the number.

Hey ! Thanks for the info for Rainforest Cafe- one more phone call and all my ressies are set! I found the number in the Downtown Disney area of the site then clicked on the little i next to Rainforest cafe- lots of good lil pieces of info here!
