question about resort room request

we have read quite frequently of people making special request for their resort. we have never done this and we do not have a specific request per say. we booked our honeymoon with AAA because they gave us the best rate. however, I"m not certain the agent had disney mark that this is our honeymoon. I was wondering if it would be improper to send POFQ (our resort) a fax to make sure that it was noted. If so is it 3-5 days before your arrival date which you send it or is it another time period?
