question about resort hopping

Hi my hubby and I are still planning where to stay for AUG the problem is we wanted to camp then decided it would be too hot, so decided to spend xtra and stay at resorts on property....... We cant agree on which one we are down to three over ten nights.... LOL if you hop like that will they move your luggage for you?

Disney will move your luggage for you if you decide to switch resorts during a trip. It is a convenient service - you can check out of Resort A and give the bags to the bellhops in the morning and check in to Resort B later in the day and they will have the bags at Resort B by mid afternoon (3 or so).

But remember, each time you hop you'll need to take time to check-in at each resort. If the resorts are busy, it can take a lot of your vacation time.

as long as all the hotels are WDW resorts they will move your luggage - no DD hotels, nor the D/S.

is it odd to hop twice in one vacation? I cant imagine checkin would take long, cant they just transfer the info from the first hotel?

Nope you will actually have to go to the second resort and check-in. And if you don't have Express checkout you will have to go down to the front desk to check out at the first resort as well.

I stayed at 7 hotels on my last trip !!! Over three weeks, we had a wonderful time !!

The deluxe hotels rarely have a queue for check in and the ability to see different themes and views is wonderful.

We decided this year to limit it to 6 hotels with a minimum of two nights!

Plan so far is

Boardwalk 5 nights
Portofino Bay 2 nights
Beach Club 5 nights
?? AKL/WL 3 nights
Grand Floridian 4 nights
Hard Rock 2 nights

We are just choosing the last hotel and cannot decide between AKL or WL. Depends on what AP rate I can get.
As I have DVC a lot of the hotel hopping is due to getting the best from the midweek points!

By moving you are very much on top of your luggage and everything is kept neat and tidy. I could not imagine staying in one place for three weeks now !!

All my PS arrangements are made around the resort we are staying at and we do spend a lot on time at the resort making the most of the facilities. Disney do move your luggage but I always pop it into my car and drive to the next hotel !!
