We are on the land and sea package and was wondering if we have to give them a credit card to check in even though i am not planning on using any charging privelages at the resort or on the ship. i like to pay as i go no surprises that way. Also it takes forever to get the hold they place on the card taken off. Also when we get off the ship we are doing the free dining plan also paid for in advance do we have to give them our card for a hold then as well. Thanks:confused3

We do not have any credit cards, just a debit card, and we have never needed to leave the info with the front desk. I have gone with friends at times, and we felt that it would be best not to put one down - just in case the other was to charge it to the room. I really think that you will be fine.

They'll expect you to pay the room and tax in full before giving you a key. Other than that...that's it. :) You don't have to leave a credit card - that's a service that they offer. :)

They'll probably turn your phone off, though. You'd be able to call the desk, valet guys, etc. - but not call home. Only a problem if your cell phone keeps dropping calls. If you have Verizon, this might be a problem, depending on your room, lol!!! I have perfect reception at home and in the parks, but in some rooms I drop call after call.

Have a great trip!!!!!

During our check-in at AKL last year, we gave them our debit card in case we decided to put charges on our room card. We didn't charge anything and our debit card was not charged accordingly. You can always tell them that you will not be doing any charges on your room card and i believe they'll "turn off" that privilege. If they require one, then just leave them a credit card in case they "accidentally" decide to charge a phantom charge to your credit card and then credit the item back. These transactions generally take up to 4 business days to correct, so it's better to use your credit rather than your debit card.

There is no pay as you go on the ship. Cruise ships are cashless and will not accept cash in shops or at bars, spas, etc. You will have to leave a credit card, debit card, or sum of cash at the Pursers desk and then bill charges to your room key on the ship.

I agree!! I've never been on a cruise where you pay for anything in cash. We've always had to leave credit card info. Everything was charged to our room and then to our credit card. Not sure about debit card etc. I don't recall cash being exchanged on the ship (although I've never taken a Disney cruise).

You can leave a cash sum up front at the Pursers desk on the Wonder/Magic, I believ eit is sometihng like $200 at a time. You thne charge to your room against th ebalance and hav eto go back to replenish it if it sinks too low. Then you hav eot go the mornign you debark and stand in line to get back any left over amount due back to you. That is the only way to use cash, you can't pay cash directly for services/products on the ship.
Definitely not worth the time spent in line. Better to leave a credit card and pay it off when you get home. You can monitor the bill through the TV in the stateroom as you go along.

When you are on a land/sea combination package you recieve one key per person which serves for both ship and resort so you should leave a credit card for it.
