Hi there,
I was hoping to get some clarification on the SoCal resident summer fun pass. I will be heading to Disneyland over Labor Day weekend with a friend and her sister who lives in San Diego. The impression is that she can purchase the 3-day $129.00 tickets for everyone even though we live in different states (Nevada and Colorado) and it will be valid that weekend. What I saw says the pass ends in August. Her sister said there were 2 different summer passes and we definitely can use it. I am not sure about this though. Does anyone know if non-residents can use the summer passes if a resident is there and if there is a deal that goes through Sept?

There as two passes, one is a park hopper and the other isn't. Besides that you'll want to make sure she check the blockout days. There is only a few, but check them. I don't think they are good until Sept. I think they end around or on the date Summer Nightastic ends (check the Disneyland website).

From the Disneyland Site:
Tickets are valid 45 days from first use. First use must occur between 6/11/10 through 8/29/10.

So you have two problems, one of which is significant:

1) The first day of activation must occur by 8/29/10. Doesn't sound like that fits your plans. If someone can activate the passes and use one day prior to 8/29, you would still have the remaining two days, though.
2) The offer is limited to residents, but I've never heard of anyone verifying residency. Personally, I buy them for friends and family that live out of state every year.

COSTCO in So. Cal is selling a BETTER ticket.

4 days, park hopper, good until MAY 2011. $199 but includes a $50 DL giftcard, so really, only costs $149.

If your friend is a Costco Member (the one who lives in San Diego), she can buy you guys these tickets and you CAN use them.

I just bought one for my MIL (who lives in North Carolina) two weeks ago to use while she is visiting for a month. She has used it twice already. No one asked to see any sort of ID. All you have to do is print your name on the ticket. I assure you, the CMs do not check the residency status. ONLY the person selling you the ticket is required to do this. And, for the record, they didn't even check at Costco...
This ticket is NOT blocked out over Labor Day weekend either.

I have even bought "So Cal Resident" tickets for friends who live on the East Coast. They were able to use them just fine. And, I was not even with them.
