Question about reservations two rooms

I purchased a studio through Daves vacation club at animal kingdom lodge. A second family is going with us but there is 5 so they would need a minimum one bedroom. This cost to much for them so they are staying at port orleans. My wifey and I thought it would be good to have them with us so we are willing to upgrade to a 1 bedroom have my niece sleep with us and give them the 4 person studio.

My question is my name is already on my reservation so if I get a one bedroom it will be there too. Does it matter if I book the room and just let my family sleep in there?

That's a question you need to take up with David, not this board.

Unless the rules are different for rentals, you can't have two reservations in the same name.
I would try and make sure your name is on the room you stay in for magic bands unlocking doors correct and such

This really is something you're going to have to take up with David's. It's going to depend on a) DVC policies, and b) David's policies.
