Question about reservations and points

Can you make ressies before you actually have the points? For instance, if we buy a resale, say with a December use year, points are not available until Dec 07, and we want to make reservations for January 08. Can we make them before December?

Yes. To make a reservation, you need to have enough points available in the same Use Year as your vacation dates. The Jan '08 vacation falls within your 2007 UY (Dec 1, '07 through Nov 30, '08) so Dec '07 points can be used for that stay. You could also use banked '06 UY points and/or borrowed '08UY points for that stay.

You can make a reservation 11 months prior to your checkout date at your home resort and 7 months prior to your checkout date at non-home resorts regardless of your Use Year.
