Question about reselling passes on Ebay

I know we can't give links to our auctions, but I've been putting off listing my extra passes from my last trip. I have two plusses left on them which I won't be using, and was planning to sell and use that money to buy Sea World passes. I finally listed Sunday, got many emails from people asking questions and many hits since Sunday. I got my first bids today for both sets of tickets. Tonight I get an email from Ebay that they are cancelling my auction as you can't resell tickets that have already been used. I put in the auction that the park days have been used, and all that was left was 2 plusses. Was it my wording. There are people all over Ebay reselling these. What am I doing wrong. So far they cancelled one, but the other is still listed. I imagine it's just a matter of time and that will be cancelled also. My name on Ebay is smudslide. Thanks for your help. I feel awful for the person who bid on the one cancelled and for the others who's questions I answered.

eBay's ticket sales policy specifically prohibits the sale of partially used mutli-day passes when the "event" is staged in Florida. That doesn't mean that people don't do it. You just happened to get caught. Your other auction is still active because it has slipped by unnoticed.

You can check eBay's help page for details. Type "reselling tickets" in the search box.

By the way, your wording in the remaining auction is very honest and in no way misleading. The item for sale is just against eBay's TOS.

You're saying just about what Ebay wrote to me. So, does this mean that every auction that is listed daily selling unused park days is also against their rules? Could I word it any other way for it to be within their rules?

Yes, all of those auctions are against eBay's rules. For some reason yours got flagged and closed. It has nothing to do with the wording. The sale of partially-used WDW passes is against the rules. If they are unused passes, you can sell them on eBay but not for more than $1 above the face value of the pass.

I have seen people sell an envelope and that envelope has tickets in it.
In all honesty and certainly not to offend you, but I would be hard pressed to spend that much money on two plusses and the person spending 49.99 plus shipping (which is a bit excessive) has more money than brains and obviously is not a reader of the DIS. Ticketmania sells PI tickets for 16.00 with free shipping.
Good luck with your auction, and I do mean that sincerely.

More than likely yours got flagged or reported because they are overpriced.

I don't get how you can say they're overpriced unless the purpose is to use them at PI only. Two days at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon would be $64 plus tax for one person if you had to buy daily passes, and I am offering two passes. I saw one pass go for $50 on Ebay in the completed auctions. You say that Ticketmania sells PI for $16, so two days there for two people would be $64, which is still more than my $50 plus shipping, but that would be using these passes for the least advantageous thing. They would be better used for the more expensive waterparks to get the best value.

You know, you are absolutely correct and I do apologize. My brain, in the am, is not all that sharp. :) I was thinking one person x 2 not two people x 2. Again, no offense intended, but I think your shipping is way high. Those passes can go in a regular envelope for .37. Wrap paper around them and they will be fine.
Again, I sincerely wish you luck on this auction.

One thing to note, since you are showing pictures of the back side of those tickets, they may no longer be valid when whoever buys them gets to the gate. Anyone can download that picture, blow it up a little, take those number and go to guest relations at a park and tell them they lost those tickets and each had two plus options on them. Disney will void them and issue new tickets for those remaing plus options.

Gail, no offense taken. I figured you were thinking one pass. I was planning to wrap and send in a padded envelope like I mail all my pins, but if someone wanted to pay .37 and didn't care if they might be bent, I would mail that way. I noticed most people were actually mailing priority and charging $5-$10, so I thought my way would be cheaper.
Is there a way to change the picture and erase the back picture?
Since there's already a bid, I don't know if I can revise.

Could be a "competitor" turned in that specific auction to eBay..

I wouldn't sell them - nor would I buy them - but that's just me..

The other thing is Disney does not allow the "transfer" of tickets. Someone could flag Disney to these tickets and they could be refused at the gate...this would be the 'legal person' in me coming out...sorry.

Linda,
I am not sure if you can revise the auction, but, you sure could try.
In all honesty, your is the only ticket auction I looked at. I only buy annuals.....from Disney. :) And, if I do buy tickets for my kids, then I use Ticketmania. Not everyone is as honest as I believe you to be.
Now, drink coupons from SWA is a different story. LOL

I think this is the most likely scenario.

BTW, Ebay does not cancel items because of being overpriced :) (somebody mentioned this as a possible reason they were cancelled). Ebay is happy to take their listing fee on overpriced items!;)

Boy - you've got THAT right! LOL :teeth:

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I had 3 adult tickets with one plus left on each and 4 childrens tickets with one plus each left on them and they all got cancelled but one. I even had two auctions end and they cancelled them AFTER the auctions ended.

I was pretty sad because i was going to use the money so DH and i could take a weekend away for our 10th anniversay ,since we`ve never gone anywhere without the kids.

Except in the case of admission media. There are rules for these transactions.
