So, if I were to buy 75 pts on the resale market, how much should I estimate my closing costs to be?

Do they vary by resale company? or are they pretty standard?

Thanks all,
KJ

They vary by the different companies. I tried adding on thru resale on 25 pts SSR. They told me closing cost would be $400 dollars. So instead of the SSR resort costing me $85 per pt. as advertise.....after I added the closing cost of the $400, the SSR pts were costing me $101 per pt. So I nixed that idea and just went with Disney direct and got my pts. that very day and not have to deal with ROFR or the long paper trails with resale.

In my case...closing cost for low pts. add on was not worth it for me. Maybe a better deal if I wanted alot more pts?

If you purchased 75 points at The Timeshare Store, Inc. at any resort other than Hilton Head the closing costs would be $359. Actually 25 to 50 points the closing costs are $322, 51 to 75 points the closing costs are $359, and 76 to 100 points the closing costs are $397. If it is 101 points or more the closing costs are based on the purchase price.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,
Jason

Sighting those same point senarios, what would the closing costs for HHI be?

Realize sometimes there are other fees as well, for example, administrative fees, etc. thru a resale. It is all dependant upon who you purchase from. Sometimes you don't know about it till you physically see your contract. :sad2: It happened to us!

You won't find any hidden fees with The Timeshare Store, Inc. The seller* pays the commission and the $20 ROFR fee to Disney. The buyer** typically pays the purchase price (of course), the closing costs and any applicable annual dues.

* A foreign seller will pay a 10% FIRPTA tax at closing. A foreign seller will most likely have to pay additional fees to get the documents notarized in their country.

** A buyer will have additional fees should they choose to wire funds either from the US or other countries.
