Question about renting points

I am considering buying a DVC, I know that if I rent points, the owner makes the reservation under their name and then transfers the res to my name. My question is, if I am an owner, but need a few more points for a stay, can I just rent them or do I have to get a transferred reservation.

As a member, you can rent a reservation from another member or you can ask them to transfer points to your contract. However, you can only transfer either in or out once a year. And, technically, there is no compensation to the other member for the points per the Public Offering Statement.

It's usually easier to get a large transfer of points than just a few.

Your options would be to have another member make a reservation under your name and then link that with our other dates or find another member to transfer points into your account so you can make (and control) your own reservation.

Points, per se, can ONLY be used by the member who controls them in his/her account.
