Question about renting a EVC @ the parks

Has anyone been out of luck when getting to the parks and they have been out of EVC's? We are going to rent one for my Mother from an outside source. But my Dad, well he won't need one all the time. We might just take our chances and get there when the parks open and rent an EVC there. Has anyone had an experience where there not had any to rent?

We are going to be there Nov. 20 - 27 of this year.

Thanksgiving is a very busy time. You may find it dificult to rent if you go later in the day.

Yes, one time. We spent 8 days in WDW in May 2006 & only on one of those days was my FIL not able to get an ECV. We had arrived at MK around 4pm that day & none were available. He put his name on the wait list & one became available about an hour after our arrival.

It was the day after Mother's Day that that happened. I remember because it was MIL's b-day.

We are always there at rope drop. Does anyone think that will be a problem? We don't plan to go later in the day, always first thing...

It should not be a problem for the first hour or so after Park opening.

I wouldn't worry if you are going at RD. We did this twice without any problem. WDW recently increased the rental cost when they raised the stroller prices. I think this increase has really made a difference with availability. We actually rented one from Epcot in the early evening without a problem in early June.

Thanks for the info. We always were at the opening of every park last year, so I imagine also this year.

Now I just need to know and plan on where to go to rent the scooter once I'm in the parks!

The scooter rentals are very close to the turnstiles, at the same place as stroller rentals. In EPCOT they have a rental place at both the main entrance and the International Gateway. They are marked on the park maps with a blue icon of a stroller and a wheelchair side by side.

Thanks! I never really paid attention on the previous trip where they were located in the parks. I'll have to find some park maps online and get my plan ready for Nov!
