Question about Rent Trade Board

Hi all. I have a question about responding to a "Reservation Wanted" post on the Rent/Trade Board. I have an eBay auction going for a reservation I can't use. I've noticed some posters looking for this type of reservation. I wanted to alert the poster to the auction, is it ok if I just hit reply and put a link to the auction there?

I'm sure I could pm the person with the link, but it would be better for me to hit reply as it could get more exposure. (unlikely, but still...)

That said, I don't want to violate any disboard rules. (I've unknowly tripped on some rules in the past). I did read the rent/trade board rules and didn't see anything that would be an obvious violation.

Thoughts anyone?

The DIS does not allow links to Ebay sales at all. If your reservation is more than 30 days out, that too is a violation, as the DIS does not allow the posting or contacting renters, via reply or PM for existing reservations unless they are in penalty period which is 30 days or less.

Im sure a mod will correct me if the policy has changed

Thanks for the answer Liferbabe, but I'm still a litle unclear. I understand that if I put up a link to my ebay listing as a reply, you believe I will be violating the "no reservations for rent unless they are w/i 30 days" rule. But I'm less clear on whether I can respond by pm.
Can I pm someone with my eBay link?
Or just tell them that I have a reservation like that listed on eBay without sending them a link?
Can I mention my listing on ebay in a response on the board without putting up a link?

You can not respond with an ebay link. Ebay links are never allowed.

Responding in any way with an existing reservation outside the 30 day window is a violation.

Technically no to all of the above. Im just telling you my experience (inadvertent) in the past and what I have read from others that have been sanctioned for similar violations. You basically have to look at the rule and what it is trying to do. Any way to bypass that rule is a Disboard violation. You cant use the Dis in any way for a existing reservation outside of 30 days. Some you contact may even report you to a mod because they dont know if you are legit or not. Not telling you what to do just some friendly advice
There are other places online that are more forgiving, just Google.
