question about referrals

For some reason I had the thought that on the boards we couldn't try to 'make money' by giving a referal type item. Are we allowed to give our referral number for a Disney Visa to other posters (the one where the person referring receives $25 Disney Dollars and the person referred a $25 Disney Gift Card or whatever the offer is for them)? I thought we couldn't and these referral cards seem along the same lines. Does anyone know the answer? Just wondering. Thanks!

I don't believe anyone should make $$ from this referral, but if you look at both sides, it is a WIN-WIN scenario for both ends. The seekers get to pay less for the pass. The givers get some goodies back from WDW. Both the seekers and givers are beneficiaries here. Ultimately, Disney gets the bigger jackpot.

Yes, I guess in the end WDW will!! With maybe more people getting an AP due to the lure of the discount, those people may take extra trips to WDW. I know we have when we have APs. We went 3 trips each time we had an AP, so yes Disney does get the bigger jackpot, but the discount/referral bonus is great!! Maybe they won't up the cost come Aug since it is pretty high as it is. $500 for out of state is a large chunck of change!!

I think the reason that we can do this is similar to the "free swaps." While the giver will get $25, that comes from Disney, not from the recipient. So no money is changing hands between DISers.

Yes, but I thought for some reason that we couldn't give our referral code (to get $25 disney dollars) to refer a new Disney Visa customer. That, too, is no exchage between disboards members, as well as the referral for ING accounts. The person referring gets $10 from ING and the new account person at ING gets $25. The items I was talking about come from the company as well so that's why I asked. Thanks.

Not sure why anyone would want to apply for the Disney Visa with a $25 gift card offer right now, when there is a current offer out for the applicant to receive a $100 GC and as of yesterday it is still available. The Visa offer I have a link to doesn't include a 'referral' GC to anyone, it just provides a $100 GC to the applicant.
