Hi! So I know that people have talked about getting to WDS early because at around 9:30 or 9:45 they start letting guests in to queue for Crush. How does this work exactly? Do you approach a CM and say that's what you want to ride? is there a specific entrance to go through. Just kind of unsure of the whole the process.

if you arrive at 9.45am you'll see the queue for Crush believe me - it'll already be back towards the entrance to Studio 1! Get there at 9.20ish, there will already be a queue at the turnstiles to get in, and then just follow the crowd, because 99% of them will be heading to Crush ;). You go to the normal ride entrance, and start queueing. A lot of times Crush starts up before 10am, so you could be already have been on it by the time the park opens proper.

I can second this, we were in the studios for 10, and all we could see was a HUGE queue, I thought there must be a character there or something lol

Similar with ToT! I was queuing for that at 9.50am and the queue was moving at that point too! (I was off by 10.10am!)

Thanks guys! I leave for Paris on Friday so I'm in anxious over-thinking mode!

I was planning to get to the parks for about 9-9:30, transport dependent. Does this process apply to those of us who are day tripping and not staying in disney hotel?

yes, offsite guests as well as onsite get into the Studios at 9.30am when the turnstiles open, and onto the rides open before 10am.
