Hi

I am wanting to push paying dues out til the grace period in February for credit card reasons but I have friends using the points in January. Do those dues need to be paid off before they can stay then? I wouldn't want to cause a problem there!

I am fairly sure that they do need to be payed. It says so on the reservation confirmation.

you know you can have DVC monthly draft your account (I know they do checking, and I believe they can do a credit card this way, too)

it be easier on your budget to do it monthly instead of the entire thing at one time.

I think dues have to be paid by the "due date" or prior to check-in at a DVC resort, wichever occurs first.

Prior to changing our account to the monthly debit, when we traveled in January we gave a check for the dues to the front desk upon check-in.

IF you are late, there will be a fee. You would also not be a member in good standing and likely not allowed to stay until the dues were paid. You could set up the direct withdrawal from your checking and spread the dues over the entire year but you wouldn't be able to do it with a CC.

You could set up the debit option to cover the first payment. Then in Feb pay it off with the credit card.

You can pay the entire dues amount in January with a credit card, but you cannot do monthly payments with a CC. Monthly payments can only be done by a direct bank draft.

The due date is January 15th and the grace period is Feb 15th.

If your stay is prior to the 15th of January you're probably OK since the payment isn't due yet. If the stay is after the 15th of January you'd be in the grace period and in that case the reservation might not be honored.
