Hello
We will be in Orlando the 13th thru 18th and wanted to know before we leave a question about printing your tickets off the computer.I printed the tickets on KODAK matte paper so that the tickets couldn't tear easily and were sturdy. But thinking about some of the rides involving water, I am afraid if water gets on them, the barcodes will smear and we wouldn't be able to get back in the next day.We bought the 89.00 dollar tickets so we would not be pressed for time if we didn't get to ride everything the 1st few days. I thought I read where someone said you could turn the printed tickets and get a Universal Card to use over and over till the 7 days are up. I told my wife that if we didn't get a really good answer in time, I was going to print off for the 4 of us duplicate tickets (at least 3 sets)and leave the tickets hidden in our Hotel room. So can someone tell me what options I have other than printing duplicate Universal Studios tickets?

take the print out tickets to guest services.
they will reissue those tickets when you give them your print out ones.

If you wanted actual tickets, you should have used the kiosk pick up method. If you are okay with printing out several copies, and don't want to waste time at customer service getting actual tickets, then the print at home method is ideal.

The whole idea behind the print at home method was to help people save their time standing in line at customer service -- you take your tickets straight to the entrance. The kiosk method is very quick but still involves you standing in line. It has been my experience that the kiosk line is shorter than the customer service line. However, since you already have your tickets, you really only have the options of printing out several copies or waiting in line at customer service.

Some other people have said that they printed out one copy of each ticket on normal paper, cut the ticket down to a size as small as possible and then put them in one zip loc bag.

We went to US/IOA last week. I had the tickets just printed on paper. I just folded them with the barcode side up & put them in a ziploc bag in my backpack. It was easy to just take them out to scan for entrance & return to the bag. I thought it was going to be a pain in the rear but it was not a problem at all for us.

So wait, I'm confussed. I'll be staying there so does this mean I'll have to scan my ticket every day that I am there to get in to the park. I plan on doing half day, go back to hotel, then back to park. This sounds like it would be a real incovience.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Yes, you have to scan the ticket whenever you enter the park. I'm not sure how they could let you in without scanning your ticket to make sure it is valid. You will also do a biometrics whenever you enter.

my suggestion was not clear i see.

if your print at home tickets get ruined by the rain, go to gs for them to be reissued.

for the poster who said about going a half a day to the park and having to rescan their tickets, all parks do that. busch, seaworld, six flags, disney, etc.

you have to pay to get into the theme parks.

if you return on the same day and you have a multi day pass, only ONE day will be considered used out of that pass you have.

you could leave the park 5 times in one day and return 5 times and only one day of your pass is used.

Ok, sorry. I'm at work and my mind kind of fogged up. I guess I was thinking that you could use the hotel key as a ticket to get in and out of US and IOA. But, yes Macraven, you are clearly correct. At all other parks you would need to have a ticket each day. I guess I"m just tired. LOL

no problem.
at first i thought you meant you didn't want to use the multi day pass as it would keep taking off a day at the park.

when you work all day and have to go home and then really work, it makes a person tired. i totally understand that.

the hotel key does not have your tickets tied into it.
it only gives proof that you are staying on site and you get free FOTL at the parks.

if you are used to the disney system and have a package deal, those hotel cards have the tickets programed into them.

Your room key will be used for the express lane on the park rides. Perhaps that is what you were thinking about.

Just got back from Universal and, as usual, MAC is correct. The Disney system has tickets tied to the hotel key (I wish Universal would do this). I elected not to print out anything at home for I wanted the actual tickets. This forum helped me greatly! I bought the 7 day for $81. and then went to the kiosk at the entrance (there was no wait as there are many kiosks) and plugged in my confirm number and the credit card I used to buy the tickets (funny, when I bought the tickets online, my credit card then became expired and we were issued a new one with a different number. I brought the old one and everything worked out great. Took 5 minutes, and we were inside the park).
There were times we when got to either park and there were long lines to get in, the attendants would not worry about using your finger (biometrics), just had a gun and started scanning tickets so people could get in quickly.

Hope this helps!
