Question about POTC 2- SPOILERS

I've got two questions, actually

1) How is Jack, the monkey, undead even after Jack Sparrow tries to shoot the thing. Yes, I know about that last scene at the end of POTC 1 when he appears and shrieks at the camera as a skeleton. I'm just wondering how he's still seemingly cursed in the sense that he can't die but isn't becuase he's not a skeleton in the night.

2) Is Elizabeth interested in Jack Sparrow or did she kiss him just to hand-cuff him to the Black Pearl in an effort to save herself and the others? The compass pointing to him, seemingly added tension between them, and then her attitudes at the end at Tia Dolme's hut have left me wondering.

Not sure on the first as some of the men are still alive as well.

the 2nd is a play on smart camera work it does point to jack and then when he takes it back it point to where she is sitting .

However the chess was between her and jack at first and then she was sitting on it when he had it .So it could just be that.

The monkey had a coin in his hand at the end of the first one. I believe he stole the coin himself and became undead again. The other two pirates you see from the first are not undead... they even discuss how they are mortals now.

The 2nd question is one no one can really answer 100%. While they do make you believe it was mostly a trick, but that is one question you will get answered in the 3rd one. My personal take was that it was all a ploy to get what she wanted. She even stated to Norrington that she had to do what she needed.
The chest was between her and Jack, which is why he noticed that the compass was pointing to each other (so to speak) when he held it. He had her move, and they found it.
I think she liked Jack, but I think she's in love with Will. Just my thoughts on that.

I hope so. I think Will and Elizabeth make a great couple but Jack is not the marrying kind, at least not the type to settle down. I think she is in lust w/Jack and love w/Will.

Good point!! I didn't notice this...

I think she is attracted to Jack...I mean, come ON she's human, right...!!! But I believe she's in love with Will. There has to be more to it than what we saw, but I'm guessing it's a good way to have yet another conflict and cliffhanger for POTC III.

All the intrigues and hints and clues are making POTC deliciously Harry Potteresque....

Totally get that some of the other previously cursed pirates are alive, but they weren't caged and have a shot gun blown at them! Which, was exactly what he offered Tia Dolme...

There was one quick scene in this one where the undead monkey turned skeleton. It was towards the beginning of the movie I believe shortly after Jack got onto the Pearl. Maybe the rest of the nights where cloudy??

I totally agree with the lust for Jack, love for Will.l
