We will be staying at GC in August. Currently we have 2 connecting rooms
booked at 30 points per night for 3 nights which is 180 points.
Well my husband thinks we are wasting points and that the five of us can fit
in one room and we should not waste the points.

Is it to late to cancel one room? I am sorta new at all this and this is our first time using points.

I know the cm on the phone gave me information about about it not being DVC and if I should cancel I would lose the points. At the time I guess I wasn't paying attention because I thought there was no way I was canceling. If I cannot cancel the room can I tell them1 room for 6 nights instead of 3 that way points are still being all used up or does that not matter? I don't mind adding on some nights if it means I don't lose the points.

If you already made a DVC reservation using points, the points became reservation points. Meaning you cannot use them for DVC lodging if you cancel the reservation. You can only use them for non-DVC Disney lodging or the DCL.

To make the change you mentioned above, you would have to pay another $95 booking fee.

Also, be aware that some rooms in the GC have one bed and one set of bunks. You will need to confirm the bedding configuration in your reservation before trying to change it to a room for 5 there.

Plus it will require more points to make it one room for 6 nights as Friday and Saturday night will be 48 points (not 30 pts) per night.

Personally, I would keep the two rooms. When we travel there, we book two standard rooms, one for my husband and myself and the other for our two DD's. Easier with two bathrooms and certainly more privacy. :)

Does the room with the buk bed have a trundle under it? I have a 6 yo and 2 12 yo. Thinking 6 yo could use trundle if there is one. Or do they limit 4 to these rooms?

Another option 2 queens and a rollaway?
