question about point redistribution between contracts

My family has two contracts, but we treat them as sort of one "pool". We are going to WDW in November and hope to stay in a 1-bedroom at BCV, which is not our home resort. In the past, we have had excellent luck getting most of the nights of our trip at 7-months, and then gotten lucky with the wait list coming through. We have never gotten all nights at 7-months, and we assume that will be the case this time too.
of course I have a reservation booked at my home resort now. I currently have 5 of the nights booked in a 1-bedroom at okw with my contract which has 126 points for 2017 (26 banked from 2016) the remaining 102 points are booked with my parent's contract, which still has over 400 points left in 2017 but they have 102 points banked from 2016.

I NEED to use those 26 points from my contract for this reservation so I don't lose them. Can I, at the 7 month mark book the BCV club trip with my parent's contract and then go back and have MS redistribute my points so I use the 26 points and some change from my contract for one night? then I could just bank the remaining 2017 points?

is there a better option that I am not seeing?

Are the two contracts under one membership number? All 4 of my contracts are same use year and in the same membership. I have done this before with no issues.

If they are two separate contracts under two different membership numbers, you would have to transfer points, which could have different rules.

My guess is that it shouldn't be allowed. If it was, friends and or family would be taking advantage of the system.

Thanks disneynutz. I can see where it wouldn't be something that DVC would facilitate, but it certainly isn't taking advantage of the system. I can work around it pretty easily by simply reserving one night on my own with my contract and the rest of the nights with my parent's contracts and linking the two reservations. I'll have to cancel two of my current nights at OKW with my contract to be able to do it, which is slightly risky, but OKW one-bedrooms are usually pretty available at the 7 month mark, even during busy times. It would just be nice to not have to fuss with the two contracts. No one is taking advantage of anything! They are always happy to redistribute points between within one contract, this wouldn't be significantly different, but I can also totally see them not allowing it.

I would really appreciate input from anyone who works with two separate memberships!

No, you won't be able to do that. If they were current points you could transfer but since they are banked that falls outside of the rules. Do you have any points left in your contract that you could book the 1 night at BCV with your contract without cancelling the OKW? Then, once you get the BCV you could cancel the OKW and have MS redistribute your banked points to the BCV night. You'll have to book the rest of the trip separately under your parents membership though and have MS link them as continuing reservations.

Otherwise, as you mention, I'd suspect you'd be ok cancelling the OKW and attempting the BCV and if you couldn't get it then rebook the OKW and waitlist for BCV.

It also might be worth asking MS if they'd allow you to transfer the banked to your parents contract and see if you get some pixie dust but normally they would not do that.

After years of ownership we have learned keeping things simple with Disney/DVC makes thing much more enjoyable and greatly reduces the chance for errors. We have two different memberships and two different UY's but after problems with transfers we keep and use the points separately. We have linked other reservations in the past but again we had issues.

We decided to buy enough points at our favorite resorts to vacation where and when we want without waitlists, another process that has issues.
