So much information so little time!
I have been told that I may have an issue getting on some of the rides at Harry Potters. But I have also been told they have plus sized seats.
Anybody here LARGE and in charge that has been that can tell me what to expect?

what about information for other rides, not just Harry Potter? Are there any rides that a plus sized woman should avoid?? I DO NOT want to do the walk of fattie shame!

There are test seats out in front of anything that might give you an issue.

I`m a good UK size 20/22 and I fit on everything. Hulk, DD, Mummy, DR Doom, MIB, RRR all normal seats.

I didn`t try the test seat on FJ I just asked for the modified one when I got to the queue. The lovely lad at the seats said I would be ok on the normal seats....but I didn`t try......just in case.

The only ride seat I thought was more awkward than small was Dudley do right. It is a ride you have to kind of climb in and out and it is snug. You have to use your arms to push yourself out.

I can`t think of anything else some people have a problem with......have fun....it`s a great place :thumbsup2

Dudley is so awkward for everyone.

I'm big and tall so Dudley Do Right is doube awkward for me.

Dudley's supposed to be awkward. The jokes on the ride are horrible!

Oh, you meant boarding the ride! It's a little weird, yes. Sitting down normally does not work. Stretching your legs forward (except in the front) then sliding in is the trick. Also let gravity lower you in, not your arms. And if you're tall, sit in the middle!

My husband is big and tall, and he had a TERRIBLE time getting out of Dudley Do Right. I thought we'd have to get the Jaws of Life! Also-another word of advice: sit in the back row of the car in the Mummy. He tried to get in a different seat, and couldn't fit so they had him get out and get in the back row. Hope this helps!

Actually...the back row of ROTM is a great place to sit...lots of air time! :thumbsup2

Okay, y'all are helping me feel better. I'm a US size 22/24, but as long as there are test seats, I'll double check before getting on anything.

I just wanted to come back and update after my trip. I had no problem riding Forbidden Journey. However, with Hulk. That is another story. The test seat proved no problem so I went on to the ride. When I got in there, the guy could barely get the restraint fastened. He actually smirked at me and said, "Do you just want me to push down hard?" He had made such a commotion at that point, he could have duct taped me to the seat.. I wasn't getting out, too many people were staring. He did get it fastened, but was smirking at me the whole time.

I've come to the conclusion that I won't be riding anything else at Universal that would require a modified seat. I just don't really feel that subjecting myself to that was worth it in the end.

 Don't let one smirky TM run you away from rides. Besides - you'll never see those people again!

More importantly, how was your trip and did you like Hulk & FJ? :)

WOW...thats HORRIBLE...

I was able to fit on FJ before the modified seating...just needed a small push to get in...I did notice though that it was a bit "snug" riding Dragon Challenge..I havent been on HULK in a while..Some seats I am OK in, others are a bit...tight...

New Years though, I am dropping all this weight I put on when I was unemployed..I HATE it..

I'm sensitive about that kind of thing too. I've heard they're very nice on the FJ ride. Maybe that hulk kid missed the sensitivity training class. I was going to skip it anyway due to neck issues. (My doc says it throws you around too much.)

Definitely skip Hulk if you have neck issues. The first half of the ride is smooth, the last half has several jarring maneuvers.

My husband and I really felt that universal wasn't for us... it was not just the bad experience on the hulk ride. We had a great time on Forbidden Journey, but the rest of it just didn't appeal to us in the same way. But, that's the great thing about so many parks to chose from, something for everyone!

WWOHP: Forbidden Journey was an excellent ride. My husband was in the army as a paratrooper for 11 years. He said that ride was better than any jump he ever did. We did make the mistake of riding it back to back, that made us a little nauseous and gave us slight headaches. We figure we should have waiting a little while before riding it again.

I really do think they need to come up with a better locker system. It seemed very unorganized and chaotic.. everyone was trying to either put their stuff in lockers or get their stuff out of lockers. People were stepping on each other and pushing and shoving.

We did not do olivanders, the wait was long by the time we got there. We were disappointed in how tiny the shops were. They were very difficult to maneuverer because they were so crowded. But, hopefully they will expand them in the future.

We ate lunch at Three Broomsticks. We had cornish pasties and salad, frozen butter beer and pumpkin juice. Hubby loved the pumpkin juice. The pasties were so good, I hope to find a recipe for them! The frozen butter beer was very good, but a glass of it was way too much! He and I both drank all we wanted of it and then threw the rest away. LOL, I wish they offered it in little shot glasses LOL

I did not enjoy hulk at all. It scared the poo out of me LOL

I am about the same size as you. I fit in the normal seats for everything except FJ. I had to get the modified restraint on this ride.

Hope you have a great time.

I'm sorry you had a rude person helping you! Things like that ruin my day. I know it's been posted already, but Dudley DR is HORRIBLE to get in and out of my. My husband (about 5'10'', 200 lbs) tried to get in the front and couldn't maneuver in. The ride attendant just rolled his eyes and told him to try the back seat. He fit there fine. Oh well.
