Question about PI

Right now I am a Sophomore going to my Junior year majoring in Mechanical Engineering at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. And I now realized that for the internship that we were talking about, I needed at least 3 years of college experience. DUHH! Well I am still waiting for the PT Manufacturing Engineering PI. What other internships have you applied for?

Yeah you need 3 years of school... it happens... next year! This was the only PI that I applied for that really applied to my skill set. I'm getting a business minor so I reached out to some other PIs but I was rejected. When I saw Disney posting Fall internships I stopped trolling the board because I didn't think they would post summer stuff so late. My friend sent a link to me and I applied 3 days before the cut off. Right now I'm sitting on another internship offer/acceptance that happened before I applied for Disney so I'm sitting in limbo because I don't want to put a deposit on an apartment if I'm not going to be there but I can't plan anything else right now. It's driving me crazy... haha. Good luck on your other PIs!

well congrats on the engineering internship! if I may ask what was your overall GPA? because I feel like I am not qualified

Disney only requires a 2.5 GPA but I have a 3.1 GPA. The internship I have now is a finance/business internship but my heart still lives in building theme park rides and experiences.

Go Orange! (IST c/o 2004)

Woo hoo! Glad to here from an alum... Our basketball team was doing great this season until we choked (AGAIN) in the sweet sixteen. augh... and we are losing Wesley Johnson to the NBA... booo... oh well.

Thanks Katie I haven't heard either. I think I'm going to call tomorrow if I don't hear because they originally told me it could take up to three week from my interview and right now I'm closing in on that three week window.

Fingers crossed we all hear soon!

Hey GoldFishPond, did you do the CP?

No I've never been on CP. It wasn't a requirement for this internship mainly because I think they know for most people in the fields of study they are looking for it's hard to take off a semester of school.
