question about park hopper tickets

Are we supposed to receive the park hopper tickets in the mail? We recently purchased them through disney and gave them our confirmation number. I thought it was strange that we received them in the mail and not when we checked in and got our room key. Maybe this is how it works, but I'm not sure as this is our first trip.

if its a magic your way package, your room key IS your hopper ticket.

We didn't order the package. We reserved the rooms back in July and just ordered our tickets last weekend and gave them our confirmation # for our stay. Maybe they give the package anyway since we already had our rooms reserved.
