I have read somewhere that before park closing you can get in line and they will let you ride even if the park closes and its an hour wait. I also thought I read the buses only run an hour after park closing. So if I follow the first tip am I stranded if I dont get to the busses within an hour?

Bussing stops 2 hrs after the park closes

In my experience, I've never been stranded in any park - and I'm prone to staying as long as possible, camera in hand :rolleyes1
Disney transport and/or Security makes sure every guest gets back to their resort, or to their vehicle.
I remember one evening, quite a few years ago, DH & I were pretty much the only ones that straggled out of Epcot after closing, and we were 'treated' to an exclusive bus ride through parts of the resort we'd never seen, as our driver picked up and dropped off other late leaving guests, assorted cast members, and a small load of boxes :)
He still talks about the midnight trip on the 'red-flagged bus' out of Epcot to this day.

You will not be stranded, rest assured! Many times we have closed down the park, literally. The parks have security and they will do a "sweep" at night, starting at back of park and closing off sections, Including checking restrooms.

Disney will have buses running as long as they need to. My party has been the only ones in a bus more than once. Sometimes they send one bus to different resorts to get guests "home". You will find yourself back "home".

And yes, as long as you get in line before the park official closing time, you'll get to ride as long as there aren't any issues with the attraction. Don't make it down to the minute, however, since your phone/watch and the "official" Disney time may be slightly different.

Their site says two hours but you will always have a ride... might take longer or have more stops then usual but you’ll get back to your resort :)

Also, keep in mind on busy days on popular rides they can close a line early so be mindful just incase

Disney will not leave you at the parks they will run the bus until everyone is back to there car or hotel
