Silly question...snoring has caused major problems within our family on prior cruises (we've always stayed in one stateroom). We are considering trying a one-bedroom stateroom on our next DCL Magic cruise. Has anyone had this issue and if so is the pocket door between living room and bedroom enough of sound barrier?

Are ear plugs an option? I use them every night and they block enough to be able to sleep but not miss alarms.

You may also want to price connecting cabins (if you have 4 people). 3 can sleep in one cabin and the snoring person can sleep in the other.

I would say the pocket door is a slight sound barrier but not nearly as much as a regular door in your house.

I cruised with 3 snorers in a 1 bedroom on Magic and resorted to foam ear plugs, (provided by the host). They worked great. FWIW: the door was a standard hinged door, not a pocket door, and the rooms were surprisingly quiet.

Agree. They are wooden doors with glass (or acrylic) panels in the top of them and I would not describe them as sound proof by any means.

In the room we were in, if the seas were a little rough at night..............the doors actually tried to slide back open as the ship rocked.
