I've been looking at pictures of these 2 resorts recently planning (ok wishing about) a future trip and I was curious- from the pictures and maps I can find of OKW it looks like the walking trail b/w rooms and amenities is a sidewalk next to a road? Am I reading the maps correctly? Is this the same with SSR? I have only ever stayed at POR (many years ago) but I don't remember the path being so close to a road.

OKW does have sidewalks that run alongside and cross the roadways. There is another path from near South Point that goes past the golf course to Disney Springs. That path is not lit at night, so it is only safe to use during the day. OKW is set up like a neighborhood.

SSR is somewhat similar. There are sidewalks that cross over bridges from the Paddock area to the Carriage House. But otherwise the sidewalks run alongside the roads since at both locations the roads run through the resort rather than around the resort like POR.

At SSR, there is a sidewalk that runs along the river from the Congress Park section to DS. It's beautiful at night with all of the lights from DS reflecting off the water.
